SEMI TRAILERS WITH CLOSED BOX BODY PLYWOOD OR LIGHTLY INSULATED
In this segment Tracon is known for its solid construction. You have a choice between central axle trailers (tilt cart) and draw bar trailers. When loading and unloading closed box semi trailers, the side wall usually suffers a hard time at the bottom. Already when running in a closed box semi trailer, the pallet is pressed against the side wall and as such pushed forward. This causes the side wall to "cave in" after a few years causing cracks in the wall and expensive repairs as a result. In order to prevent this, particularly the steel protective edge at the bottom of the side wall of a closed box semi trailer is of great importance. It is possible to choose a "bathtub" structure for which a steel protective edge of 5 mm thick and 400 mm high is fitted all around, against the side wall. This is made out of one (!) length so that there are no joints that could come loose. This is mounted to the chassis, at the bottom. With this the closed box semi trailers are able to withstand years of heavy use. Certainly when you choose a thermally galvanised chassis, your closed box semi trailer is ready to be used for a minimum of 15 years. We can extensively build the semi trailer to your requirements: Tridec steering, X-steering, thermally galvanised chassis, structure in 1 or 2 colours, second loading height, loading through door, hard wood floor, securing rails, loading certificates, tail gate, etcetera. Our Trailer Configurator allows you to assemble the semi trailer according to your preferences, with extensive options and possibilities, including prices. Would you prefer us to assemble the offer for you? We will be happy to do that for you! Please leave your details and you will receive the required quotation by email. Tracon disposes of an extensive European Type Approval which makes it easy to register your semi trailer in every European country.
Tracon closed box semi trailers are designed for prolonged and intensive use. The main beams of the chassis are therefore welded on both sides for added strength, which is unique in trailer construction. In addition, the chassis is equipped with a cross-beam at every 400 mm so that a heavy floor load is made possible. In conclusion, this chassis is the foundation for an extra long life!
Tracon provides all its chassis standard with a cathodic electrodeposition coating covered with a powder coat finish. Hence, double coating for better corrosion protection.
This is the abbreviation of Kathodische Tauch Lackierung (electrostatic lacquer dip). KTL is an electrostatic painting process during which the chassis is immersed into a liquid bath. In a bath filled with lacquer the chassis is immersed under electrical power. With the help of direct current voltage, the paint particles are drawn to the chassis and a layer of varnish is created on the surface. This lacquer layer grows until a closed and insulating layer is formed onto the chassis. This way, it is possible to provide hard to reach areas with a lacquer layer. After the electrostatic application of the paint, this is dried and hardened in an oven at 180 to 200°C. Distinctive in our KTL process is that one of the immersion baths is a galvanising bath for an extra long lasting protective coating.
After the KTL process, we provide the chassis as a standard with a powder coating lacquer layer for extra protection. Negatively charged powder is sprayed onto a positively charged chassis with compressed air. Through the electrostatic principle, the powder temporarily sticks to the sprayed chassis, after which it is heated in an oven. This gives the coating the opportunity to flow out, after which it is hardened.
For a small additional charge, it is possible to galvanize all our chassis thermally. This is the best possible anti-corrosion treatment. Thermal galvanizing is an immersion process, whereby the liquid zinc, at a temperature of approximately 450°C, reaches all corners of the chassis, both internally and externally. The steel and the zinc together form a zinc alloy. This very strong protective layer is covered by a pure zinc layer. The zinc is thicker on the vulnerable edges, making the protection even better. Galvanised chassis are very sustainable, maintenance-free and offer maximum protection. A thermally galvanised chassis is rust resistant for at least 15 years.
Certified 28 mm flat, plated floor. Equipped with wear resistant anti-slip profile. Through the support of many crossbeams (every 400 mm), this floor is suitable for heavy loads. A certified floor load of up to 9,000 kilograms per lift truck axle is permitted.
A Tracon closed box semi trailer consists of a solid structure with steel front corner posts. A plywood headboard is fitted between the front corner posts. A bumper strip of 400 mm high and 5 mm thick is welded to the chassis in order to create maximum strength on the inside.
Steel rear portal with in between flat solid rear doors, which makes the application of advertisement very well possible. The doors are equipped with four hinges and double locks. Two heavy steel abutments are mounted under the doors.
Plywood side walls. These walls are made of a polyester outer and inner wall with in between a core of wood. This comes standard in the colour white RAL9010 and can be supplied in any colour. At the bottom of the wall a steel protective edge is fitted on the inside.
Cargo Securing Certificate
It is of great importance to sufficiently secure the load so that the goods can be transported safely. Poor securing annually account for millions of Euros worth of damage and many accidents. In some European countries there is legislation which stipulates that the construction has to comply with certain strength requirements. These requirements state that the construction of the upper structure should be strong enough in order to absorb the forces coming from the cargo. The relevant construction is then tested in practice for strength. If the strength is sufficient then a certificate is issued specifically for that structure. This certificate also indicates the maximum weight of the cargo. Tracon has a cargo securing certificate for all versions, even for beverage transportation.
Optionally, it is possible to select a cantilever or tuck-away lift for your semi trailer. Basically we have chosen for the brand Dhollandia, also because of the large number of service points which is present in the Netherlands. So you can be assisted quickly when necessary. On the Combitrain with an internal platform length of 8,100 mm, it is possible to mount a lift with a 1,500 mm platform and a loading capacity of 2,000 kg. On the Combitrain with an internal platform length of 10,200 mm, it is possible to mount a lift with a 1,800 mm platform and a loading capacity of 2,000 kg. Because of the many possibilities you can assemble the lift entirely according to your requirements.
